ADMINISTRATION
The Registrar
The Registrar is the overall incharge of the Supreme Court Administration.
However she/he has to discharge her/his duties under the general guidance
of the Chief Justice. The Registrar is assisted by the Joint Registrars,
Deputy Registrars and other officers and clerks of the Court. Joint Registrars,
Deputy Registrars and other officers of the Court exercise their powers
under the rules and as delegated by the Registrar. Total number of judicial,
administrative, technical and clerical officials of the Court is ........
The Registrar is also responsible for arranging the budget, human resource,
equipment and other resources for the smooth conduct of the Subordinate
Courts.
The Supreme Court Administration is divided into three divisions. They
are the Administrative Division, the Writ Petitions and Appellate Division
and the Research and Development Division.
A. Administrative Division
This division headed by a Joint Registrar is responsible for inspecting
and supervising the functions discharged by various sections under the
Division. The function of personnel administration, physical administration
and Fiscal Management is run under this Division. Besides, the Division
is responsible to look into the management various benches of the Court.
Likewise, the division has to look into various administrative matters
relating to the Subordinate Courts.
B. Writ Petition and Appellate Division
This division headed by a Joint Registrar is responsible for inspecting
and supervising the functions discharged by various sections under the
Division. Appeal Section, Writ Petitions Section, Review and Revision
Section are under the Division. Besides, the Division is responsible to
look into the management of the procedural aspects of the cases. (various
benches of the Court.....?).
C. Research and Planning Division
This Division headed by a Joint Registrar is responsible for inspecting
and supervising the function of various sections under the Division. Research
and Planning Cell, Press and Publication Section, the Supreme Court Library,
Supreme Court Archives (commonly known as Record Section), Hand Writing
and Finger Prints Cell and the Supreme Court Press Office are under the
Division. Besides, this Division is responsible for looking into the research
and development projects run under the internal or external sources. This
division works for the planning and development of the judiciary as a
whole. It also conducts research programs and publishes various reports
including the Annual Report of the Supreme Court.
D. Inspection & Supervision Division
This Division headed by a Joint Registrar is responsible for inspecting
and supervising the function of various sections under the Division. It also inpects and executes the decisions of the Supreme Court.
Reporting and Dissemination of Case Law
The Publication Cell and the Supreme Court Press Office (in coordination
with the Supreme Court Administration and Research Cell) are basically
responsible for printing, publishing and disseminating all the Supreme
Court Publications, they include monthly publication of Nepal Law Reporter,
fortnightly publication of Supreme Court Bulletin, Supreme Court Digest,
Supreme Court Index, additional issues of Nepal Law Reporter and Supreme
Court Annual Report and other periodical publications of the Supreme Court.
The Spokesperson
One of the senior officer is deputed to work as the spokesperson of the
Supreme Court. He/she is responsible to disseminate any information having
public importance concerning judiciary. Specially decisions of the Full
Court, decisions of the court having great public importance and any other
necessary information is disseminated through the Spokesperson.
